Box Score

FLORENCE, SC - Junior point guard Shawn Greenfield scored seven of his 22 points in the final minute as Francis Marion University erased a double-digit second-half deficit to claim a 94-91 win over St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Saturday night (Nov. 20) on the second day of the Zaxby's Tip-Off Clazzic.

Senior guard Chris Hargrove scored 16 of his team-high 18 points in the second half to help UNC Pembroke take a 72-65 come-from-behind victory over Coker College in the opening game of the evening.  Florence native and Wilson High School product Shahmel Brackett and K.J. Cooper each added 14 points for UNCP (3-1), which trailed 58-50 with seven minutes to go.  The Braves broke a 64-64 deadlock with a 12-1 run to end the game.

Francis Marion scored the game's opening eight points and looked to be on the way to an easy win.  However the Knights responded quickly and knotted the score at 14-14 near the midway point of the first half.  FMU would again expand its lead to eight points at 33-25 following a layup by Andrew Smith with 4:37 left in the stanza. St. Andrews again rallied and carried a 41-40 advantage into the locker room at intermission.

In the second half, the Knights stretched their advantage to 12 points at 65-53 with 12:01 left.  The margin was nine at 71-62 with 8:42 remaining when Boyd sparked a 7-2 spurt that brought the Patriots to within 73-69.  A jumper by Greenfield tied the contest at 74-74 at the 5:59 mark.

Liki Turner broke a tie and gave FMU the lead for good with four straight points with just over three minutes left. Entering the final minute, FMU's lead was 87-86, but Greenfield scored his seven crucial points to seal the victory.

FMU shot 43.8 percent from the floor, while St. Andrews connected on 42.6 percent of its field goal attempts.  The Patriots were 23-of-31 at the line (74.2%), while the Knights shot 33-of-45 (73.3%) in game that featured 57 personal fouls.
