ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – Francis Marion University
finished its two-match swing down Interstate 95 with a 3-0 loss
(25-21, 25-17, 25-19) to Flagler College, Saturday afternoon (Oct.
2) in Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball action.
Francis Marion falls to 10-7 overall and 2-4 in the PBC.
The Patriots will continue their seven-match road trip by visiting
Augusta State University on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Freshman Riley Forester paced FMU with seven kills, while junior
Ashlee Crook added six kills. Senior Mallory Eggert added
five kills and five blocks. Freshman setter Nicole Bennett
handed out 20 assists, while senior libero Kelsie Deaton tallied a
team-high nine digs.
Laura B. Lancaster and Meg Weathersby led the Saints (12-5, 6-1)
with 11 kills apiece. Lancaster hit .526 for the match.
The two recorded back-to-back kills to close out the
tightly-contested first set, that saw FMU trail 23-21.
