GREENWOOD, SC  - Senior Kyle Clinton and sophomore Emerson Peredo scored second-half goals as Francis Marion University from a 2-0 deficit to tie Lander University 2-2, Wednesday night (Sept. 30) in Peach Belt Conference men's soccer action.

Francis Marion moves to 5-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the PBC and extends its unbeaten streak in conference play to nine contests.  Lander (3-3-1) was playing its first Peach Belt match of the season.

After a scoreless first half, Aaron Brittain gave Lander a 1-0 lead when he took a Craig Hughes assist and fired it in high into the left side of the goal at 52:48.  The Bearcats stretched the lead to 2-0 at 54:26 when Jamie Davison controlled a deflected pass and drilled it into the goal from 15 yards out.

The Patriots cut the margin to 2-1 at 63:03 on Clinton's shot from in front of the goal off a free kick by Peredo.  FMU tied the game at 2-2 at 79:15 when Peredo scored on a short shot off Chris Foltanski's assist.

Lander outshot Francis Marion 15-12, but the Patriots led in corner kicks, 6-4.  Both teams had three shots apiece in the overtime periods.

FMU junior goalkeeper Clark Richeson recorded six saves, including two in the final overtime period, while Lander's Scott Playle had three.

Francis Marion will play host to PBC newcomer University of Montevallo on Saturday at 3 p.m.
