FLORENCE, SC - Freshman hitter Liz Drewry pounded out eight
kills and served five aces to help lead Francis Marion University
to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-17 sweep of Queens University of Charlotte,
Saturday afternoon (Oct. 10) in non-conference women's volleyball
action.
FMU evens its overall record at 9-9, while Queens falls to
6-17.
Sophomore Ashlyn Underhill also had eight kills and 10 digs
for the Patriots. Both she and Drewry only committed one
attack error apiece in a combined 38 swings.
Junior libero Kelsie Deaton dug up a season-high 28
balls, while setters Jess O'Leary (19) and Hallie Legg (11)
combined for 30 assists.
Francis Marion returns to Peach Belt Conference action on Friday
with a 7 p.m. match at USC Aiken. Queens play at Lander
University on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
