HARTSVILLE, SC - Clayton State University freshman reserve Ryan
Pugh scored the tying goal with 10:15 left in regulation and the
Lakers and Francis Marion University went on to play to a 1-1 tie,
Saturday afternoon (Sept. 20) in Peach Belt Conference men's soccer
action.
The match was played at Coker College in Hartsville due to the
wet condition of the FMU Soccer Field.
Junior midfielder Jared Beauchamp had given FMU a 1-0 lead at
halftime with his third career goal and first of 2008. He
headed in a free kick by freshman Adrian Sikorski at 40:04.

Behan served the ball in for the Lakers and Chris Carman took the
pass and laid the ball off to Pugh.
FMU sees its overall record go to 1-4-2, while the Lakers are
now 3-3-1. It was the PBC opener for both squads.

kicks 6-4. FMU sophomore goalkeeper Clark Richeson registered
three saves, while Clayton State's David Christofoli made two
stops.
