Tyler Boyd

Tyler Boyd is entering his second season as an assistant coachon the Patriot bench.

A native of nearby Lamar, S.C., Boyd was a four-year starter inthe FMU outfield and earned the B.A. degree in history in 2012.During his Patriot playing career, he appeared in 194 contests andhit .296 with 24 doubles, seven home runs, and 94 runs battedin.  He registered a .366 on-base percentage, stole 16 basesin 21 attempts, and committed only four errors with 13 outfieldassists.

He helped lead the Patriots to a four-year mark of 159-63-1 andfour trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

He is a  graduate of Lamar High School and comes from acoaching family. At Lamar, he played for his dad J.R. Boyd. He earned All-State and All-Region honors in baseball and footballas a senior. He batted .564 with 13 extra base hits, 22 runs, 28RBIs as a senior and was a 2007 WPDE TV-15 All-Zone Team member asa quarterback.
