WBB25 Sharee' Boyd

Sharee' Boyd

Sharee' Boyd enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Francis Marion University women's basketball program.

Boyd comes to Florence after serving as the head coach at NCAA Division III Salem College for the past two seasons (2022-24).  In 2023-24, Boyd brought in nine new players, including eight freshmen, and the result was the first 5-0 start in program history. That squad posted the most wins in six seasons.

She also served as an assistant coach at Winston-Salem State University for four years (2018-22) and at Louisburg College for one season (2017-18).

During her stint at WSSU, she worked directly with the forwards and centers, developing one CIAA Freshman of the Year, two All-CIAA selections, and three All-CIAA Tournament selections. With Boyd on the bench the Rams were 42-42 overall and posted a 25-25 mark in league play.  At Louisburg, Boyd was an assistant coach, while serving as head coach of the Hurricanes’ jayvee program. She eventually was elevated to interim head coach of the varsity program as Louisburg posted a 23-5 record during the 2017-18 campaign and reached the Region X championship game.

Boyd’s first experience as a coach came at her alma mater Hopewell High School in Huntersville, N.C., where she was an assistant coach for the 2016-17 season.

Boyd played three seasons at Wingate University, where she helped the Bulldogs win the South Athletic Conference Tournament in 2014 as a sophomore. Early in her junior season, shoulder injuries forced her to end her college playing career. She transferred to UNC Charlotte, earning a Bachelor of Arts in history degree in 2016.

During her prep career at Hopewell, Boyd was a four-time All-Conference selection, an All-District selection, and 2012 conference Player of the Year honoree. She was selected to play in the North Carolina East-West All-Star game. Boyd led Hopewell to three consecutive conference championships, and ended her career holding school records for points, rebounds, and blocked shots.
