Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin enters his fifth year at FMU and first season as an assistant coach for the Patriot women’s soccer program in 2026.

Martin rejoins the Patriots after serving one season as the associate head men's soccer coach at Coker University in 2025.

A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Martin served four years as the assistant men's soccer coach at Francis Marion University. In his four seasons with FMU, the Patriots appeared in three conference tournament finals and won the Conference Carolinas’ Regular Season Championship, two East Division titles, and one conference tournament, as well as participating in the NCAA Tournament in 2024. Martin also received the school's award for Assistant Coach of the Year.

Prior to his first stint at FMU, Martin spent one season as an assistant at Brevard College, winning the school's first USA South Conference Tournament.

Other past coaching appointments include Wayne Country Day School in Goldsboro, N.C., where he helped the Chargers win their first state championship, and with Wayne County United Soccer Club, which finished as state runners-up. In Scotland, Martin coached at SPFL sides Livingston Football Club and Berwick Rangers Football Club, as well as the University of Edinburgh Association Football Club.

Martin has also worked as a senior opposition analyst with Velez Club de Futbol in Spain’s Segunda RFEF and as Head Set-Play Analyst with Utsiktens BK in the Swedish Superettan.

He earned an undergraduate degree in sport, exercise, and coaching at the Open University in Scotland. Martin also received a master's degree in business administration from Francis Marion in 2025. He also holds a Diploma of Sports and Exercise Science from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, and a UEFA A License.
