Britney Bennett

Britney Bennett enters her first season at Francis Marion as the assistant coach and goalkeeping coach.

Bennett comes to FMU from St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, N.C., where she spent the 2014 season as assistant coach and goalkeeping coach.  The Lady Knights post a 14-3-2 record, won the regular season conference championship, and finished as the runner up in the conference tournament.

She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she earned her B.A degree in exercise science in three years and completed her M.A in sports administration during her final year of eligibility at UNCP. Following her freshman year, Bennett was named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and earned first-team All-PBC recognition.

During her four years in goal for the Lady Braves, Bennett earned more than 10 awards for her performance on the pitch and in the classroom. She currently sits third on the UNCP all-time list for career shutouts with 20 and holds the record single-season saves mark with 117.

The Seminole, Fla., native has spent the last two year as the head coach of a U15 girls team and the head goalkeeping coach for the Fayetteville Soccer Club. For the past year, Bennett has been a part of the North Carolina ODP staff where she trained goalkeepers from all age groups.

Bennett holds a USSA D License and is working to gain her CSCS Certification.
