Andrew "Andy" Slocum begins his ninth year at Francis Marion University, and his fourth as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Welfare.
He was named Director of Compliance in the fall of 2020, after serving the previous three years as Director of Facilities and Event Operations.
He spent the 2015-16 school year as the athletic administration intern at FMU. He then returned to Florence in December 2017 after spending the 2016-17 year as a facilities and operations intern at the University of Buffalo, where he worked with the basketball, football, and soccer programs.
Slocum, a native of Arcade, N.Y., is a 2010 graduate from Houghton College with a B.S. degree in physical education. He received a master's in sports administration from Canisius College in 2015.
At Houghton, he kept stats for men’s and women’s basketball and soccer, as well as women’s field hockey. Slocum also served as the intramural supervisor.
Slocum has experience with game-day operations, including serving as an intern with the Buffalo Bandits in 2015 and working the NCAA men’s basketball tournament regional in Buffalo, N.Y., in March 2014. He has also served as coach for two local middle school soccer teams since 2011.
