FMU: Returning letterwinner....Team MVP for2010 season....Led a young Patriot squad in six of seven races in2010....Placed 5th at USCA's Bridgestone Pacer Invitational.....Her20:27 effort (5,000-meters) at the Mount Olive College Invitational(10-22-10) tied the ninth best time in program history. In the past10 years, only two freshmen have ever run faster times.....As afreshman, led FMU with a 69th-place finish at the NCAA II SoutheastRegional Championships....Suffered injury at 2010 Peach BeltConference Championship Meet.

PERSONAL: Born Whitney Joy Wagner in Wayne,Neb....Graduated from Smoky Mountain High School, where she ran forcoaches Pam Dehdashty and Adam Phillips.....Earned All-Conference,All-Region, and All-State honors for cross country twice afterpicking up the sport as a junior.....Placed 18th at the state meet,and owns a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 21:08....Also playedsoftball....Jackson County Hall of Fame's Athlete of theYear.....Her father is the head football coach at Western CarolinaUniversity....Nickname is Whit.
