PERSONAL: Born Sydney Alise Holland in Statesville, N.C....A graduate of West Iredell High School, where she played under the direction of coach Tiffany Haynes.....As a senior (2016), won 17 games (including a no-hitter) with a 2.76 ERA and 201 strikeouts in 160 innings pitched....OBA of only .182....Helped West Iredell to a 19-8 record, including a conference mark of 12-2....Named North Piedmont Conference Pitcher of the Year....2016 All-(Charlotte) Observer Team....In 2015, batted .300 for the Warriors and registered 144 strikeouts in only 136 innings pitched.....Helped West Iredell to a 15-8 record and an appearance in the third round of the 2015 NCHSAA 3A state playoffs – including tossing an opening-round no-hitter and a one-hitter in a second-round victory.....In 2015, earned All-State, All-County, and All-Conference honors for the second time, while being named the District 7-3A Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive year.....4-year letterwinner on the volleyball court, where she was selected All-Conference three times.....In the classroom, was a member of the Beta Club and garnered North Carolina Scholar Athlete recognition all four years.....Also played for the Carolina Cobras showcase squad coached by Byron York, and posted a .450 batting average and fanned 118 batters in 140 innings....Nickname is Syd.
