Renae Kirkhart

Renae Kirkhart served as head coach for Francis Marion's volleyball and softball teams from the fall of 1989 to the summer of 1992.

In her three years, she recorded a 64-49 record on the volleyball court and a 43-91-3 mark on the softball diamond.

Her 1989 volleyball team compiled a 14-14 record.  The next season, she guided Francis Marion to a 23-20 record, the school's first NAIA District Six volleyball title, and a berth in the NAIA National Tournament in Hawaii.  In 1991, the Patriots were 27-15 and again captured the District Six championship, but lost in the Tri-District XI title match.

For her efforts, she was named the 1989 Palmetto State Conference "Coach of the Year" and in 1991 earned "Coach of the Year" honors for both the Palmetto State Conference and District Six.

On the softball diamond, Kirkhart guided the Patriots to records of 12-27 in 1990, 18-32-1 in 1991, and 13-32-2 in 1992.  Her 1991 softball team was recognized by the National Softball Coaches Association as having the seventh-best cumulative grade point average among NAIA institutions.

Kirkhart was the sixth head coach in the history of the volleyball program and the third head coach for the softball program.
