Biography

FMU: First-year player at FMU....FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll 2019 (fall).....We are elated Alexus chose FMU as the place she wanted to grow, learn and continue her academic and athletic careers.....As a camp participant in 2018, we were able to see her athletic abilities, but more importantly we were able to get to know her as a person a bit better.....Will battle for time in the outfield as well as behind the plate.....Is going to bring so much to the table that we can’t wait to watch it happen.

PERSONAL:

  • Born Alexus Rachel Shreve in North Charleston, SC
  • A graduate of Berkeley High School, where she played for coach Kelley Dillon
  • As a junior, hit .361 with three home runs and 19 RBIs to help the Stags win 26 games, including region and district championships, and reach the SCHSL 4A state championship game
  • The Stags reached the semifinals of the state tournament in both her freshman and sophomore seasons as well
  • Played her club softball for the South Carolina Bandits, and participated in the Under Armour Carolina Classic National Showcase in September 2018
  • During the fall 2018 season, hit .290 in 17 contests with eight RBIs and a .371 on-base percentage
  • Nickname is Lex

  • Favorite Thing About FMU: It’s close to home and I get to play softball; It’s beautiful here and small
  • Favorite Off-field activity: Going to the lake and hanging out with my family
  • Goals for upcoming season: To have fun and get better and improve my softball skills
  • Why you first chose your sport: I watched my mama play slow pitch softball all the time and I wanted to be like her
  • The biggest mental challenge to you improving faster: To not think so much and have fun; And getting better at conditioning with running and lifting weights
  • Interesting Notes: When I was 14 I got bit by my pet raccoon on my foot.
