Cheri Richardson

Cheri L. Richardson is an advisor for the FMU cheerleading squad.

She graduated from Francis Marion University with a B.S. degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.   She went on to teach math and science at a private junior high school before accepting a position at Francis Marion University as Administrative Assistant for Community Relations and the President's Office.   She was named the Assistant Dean of Students in November of 2008, later serving as Associate Dean of Students and Administrative Assistant for Community Relations and the President’s Office.

She now serves as the Non-Profit Leadership Institute Liaison with the Francis Marion University Foundation. 

She earned her M.B.A. degree from Francis Marion University in December 2008.

A native of the Pee Dee area, Richardson began dancing at the age of three.   She taught ballet, tap and jazz for the Bobbie Rick's School of Dance in Marion, S.C., and later for the School of Dance Arts in Florence.  She also served as the coordinator for the AIFL's Florence Phantoms team during their opening season (2006).   Richardson has over 12 years experience as a dance instructor and dance team coordinator.  She completed the certification and safety course through the American Association Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) and became the head cheerleading coach at FMU in the fall of 2008. This season will be her 10th season serving in some capacity with the Francis Marion cheerleading squad.

Richardson is a member of the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA), Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA), National Association of Student Personnel (NAPSA) and the South Carolina College Personnel Association (SCCPA).

She has advised several student groups, promoted and planned various events, and served on various committees within the campus community.
