Francis Marion University senior mass communications major James Land has been named to the Conference Carolinas 2024-25 All-Conference Student Support Team presented by ConferenceCarolinasTravel.com. This is the second consecutive year Land has garnered this recognition.
This special award was created to recognize students from Conference Carolinas member institutions who support an athletics team and/or athletics department through service in areas such as team managers, statistical support, video services, and game day operations support.
Land, a native of Florence and a product of Faith Christian Academy in Effingham, owns a perfect 4.00 grade point average in the classroom. He served as the voice of the Patriots for many of the university's webcasts this past year, while also assisting with social media, public address announcer duties, and game day operations involving the video boards in the Smith University Center.
To be eligible for the award, the student must be a junior or senior in academic status and won a grade point average of 2.7 or higher. In addition, the student must have completed at least two full-time semesters at the institution.
