FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University's acrobatics and tumbling team fell 250.705-226.050 to King University in the final meet of the 2025 season, Friday (March 28) night.
Event 1 – Compulsory
Beginning with acro heat, the Patriots scored 7.00 out of 10 as the pyramid and toss heats scored the highest out of the four events with a 9.25 and 9.50. Freshman tumbler

King scored a total of 36.950 to lead the Patriots 36.950-32.750.
Event 2 – Acro
The three heats of Acro (5 element, 6 element, and 7 element) tallied 21.250 out of a possible 28.100 to give Francis Marion a cumulative total of 54.000. Nelson, sophomore base

King continued to lead 63.800-54.000.
Event 3 – Pyramid
Francis Marion posted a total of 26.850 out of 29.300 during the Pyramid competition. In Heat one (inversion), the Patriots totaled 8.800 out of 9.800 points, while in Heat two and three they scored an additional 18.050.
Francis Marion trailed 92.750-80.950 going into halftime.
Event 4 – Toss
Hawkins, Doulgas, Nelson, Pippins, and freshman base Madison Hankinson all completed in heat one (450 Salto) and recorded the best score for FMU as the Patriots earned a 7.800 out of a possible 9.000. Heat two (Synchronized) and heat three (Open) combined for an additional 15.400 points.
The Tornado continued to lead the Patriots, scoring 26.050 during Toss to fall stay ahead 118.800-104.150
Event 5 – Tumbling
In the individual passes during tumbling, Hines' pass scored 8.650 out of a possible 8.750, while Gaither's aerial pass listed 9.150 out of a possible 9.550. The Patriots scored 26.050 in the remaining passes to total 43.850 during tumbling.
The Tornado widened the lead to 168.625-148.850 as both teams went into the final event.
Event 6 – Team Event
Out of a possible 92.650, Francis Marion scored 78.150 for a meet total of 226.050.
King scored 82.080 points to finish at a running total of 250.705.
