Tehya Dave' has been named the Conference Carolinas women's soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dave' scored two goals in two wins last week. She scored a goal on three shots in 48 minutes of a 2-0 road win at Barton College. She then scored the match-winner with three shots in 59 minutes of a 1-0 win over Young Harris College. It was her fourth match-winning score of the year, ranking her third in the country.
She also contributed to FMU extending its school-record scoreless streak to 554:15, covering seven matches. She leads FMU with five goals scored, has recorded two assists, and ranks fifth in the conference with 12 points.
Dave' has helped FMU to an 8-0-0 record and a No.21 national ranking, as the Patriots are one of only three unbeaten and untied teams left in Division II women's soccer.
FMU will play at UNC Pembroke on Tuesday at 5 p.m., before returning home to host Belmont Abbey College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Last season, Dave's earned first-team All-Conference recognition and was placed on the D2CCA All-Southeast Region Team (second team). She was named the team's Most Valuable Player after scoring nine goals and recording four assists in 19 matches as the Patriots won the Conference Carolinas Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Dave' is a double-major in marketing and finance and is a graduate of North Catholic High School.
