FLORENCE, SC – Behind three different goal scorers, the No. 17 ranked Francis Marion University women's soccer program shutout Ferrum on Saturday (Oct. 18) by a 3-0 margin on Senior Day at Hartzler Field.
The Patriots remain unblemished with a perfect 12-0-0 overall mark while boasting a 9-0-0 record in Conference Carolinas play. Francis Marion extends its school record shutout streak to 914:15 scoreless minutes after the defense posted a 10th straight clean sheet.
FMU continues its homestand on Wednesday, Oct. 22, with a league match scheduled against the University of Mount Olive at Hartzler Field, with the start time set for 4:30 p.m.
In the first half, the Patriots scored quickly after finding the back of the net at the 4:09 mark courtesy of a curling 20-yard shot from freshman

At the break, the Patriots held a 14-1 shot advantage while neither side attempted a corner kick.
After Francis Marion registered a pair of shots to begin the second half, the Panthers had their best goal-scoring opportunity hit the crossbar in the 61st minute. Just over three minutes later, Ballard delivered a through ball to the midfield line, which connected with senior forward
Tehya Dave', who drove past two defenders and scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season to seal a 3-0 victory.
The Patriots closed out the match with a 25-7 shot advantage while holding a 16-2 lead in shots on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Erin Grabeel captured the win after playing 76-plus minutes and facing four shots. Sophomore
Rylee Conard made her debut at goalie for Francis Marion, closing out the final 13:56 with two saves.
Francis Marion is one of two NCAA Division II programs still unbeaten and untied.
