FLORENCE, SC – Augusta University rallied from down a set in three singles matches to claim a 5-2 non-conference decision over Francis Marion University, Sunday afternoon (Feb. 18) in men's tennis action.
 
Francis Marion (3-2) will host nationally ranked Lander University on Feb. 29 at 2:30 p.m.
 
The Patriots took a 1-0 lead after doubles play.  Junior Martin Barbera and senior Leonel Gonzalez claimed a 6-3 win at the No.1 position, and after Augusta won 6-4 at No.2, junior Harri Lloyd-Evans and sophomore Pedro Caro clinched the doubles point for FMU with a 7-5 victory at the No.3 spot.
 
The Jaguars (4-3) won the first three singles matches to finish (No.6, 1, 4) to go up 3-1.  Gonzalez drew the Patriots within 3-2 with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win at No.3 singles.
 
However, Augusta ended the match by registering three-set wins at positions No. 2 and 5.
