Box Score FLORENCE, SC – No. 2 seed Armstrong Atlantic State University scored three runs in the fifth inning to rally for a 4-1 victory over No. 7 seed Francis Marion University in a quarterfinal contest of the 2014 Peach Belt Conference Softball Tournament on Saturday (April 19) afternoon at the FMU Softball Stadium.
FMU ended their season with 23-28 overall record. The Pirates, who are ranked No. 19 in the latest NFCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll, improved to 30-11 and advanced to the semifinals against Columbus State University.

Danielle Myers laced a home run down the left-field line to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead. It was Myers' first career collegiate homer.
Armstrong tied the game at 1-1 on Kat Vogler's single through the right side of the infield in the fourth. The Pirates took the lead for good at 2-1 on Lacye Walker's single down the left-field line. Armstrong added some insurance runs as Hannah Reppert laced a two-run single through the left side later in the inning.
Walker and Haley Ellis each collected two hits against Francis Marion starter
Taylor Luff (13-16), who surrendered eight hits and struck out three. McLemore pitched around six walks and struck out nine.
