Hartings nets 11 kills in loss at PBC-leading USCA

AIKEN, SC – Francis Marion University senior Erika Hartings led all players with 11 kills, but the Patriots lost a 3-0 decision (25-16, 25-19, 25-16) to conference-leading USC Aiken, Tuesday evening (Oct. 31) in Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball action.

FMU (7-16, 2-8) will be on the road Friday as the Patriots make their way to UNC Pembroke with the first serve set for 7 p.m. The next home contest for FMU will be on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. against Claflin University. The Pacers move to 22-3 overall and 8-1 in Peach Belt play.

Following Hartings, senior Shelbi Meek had seven kills and seven digs, while Patriots junior setter Carrie McGinnis had 14 assists and freshman setter Tori Carpenter 13 assists. Sophomore libero Natalie Vaughn compiled a team-high nine digs.

USC Aiken senior Julia Forster and freshman Alie Smith both accounted for nine kills and freshman Kelsey Spurlin had eight.
